a ride and a run

I havent left any news here for a while.
I had a good ride with Damon on Sunday arvo. it was about 40 odd k's , part of which was out the Kojonup rd. There was a bit of a head wind on the trip out, which faded just before the turn around. The problem with that was we now had no tail wind on the way home. We had some good sprints, a couple of attempted break-aways and a fast finish. Thanks Damo.
I went for a run tonight and set a new personal best for 5kms. 21 minutes 22 seconds. I'm happy with that. I dont think I could have run any harder, so its a good honest time. The conditions were wet and a little slippery through the bush track and on the gravel road behind the golf course.
Next target time? 21 minutes even. We'll see.

A new personal best

Despite being in two minds about going for a run tonight, I managed to talk myself into it.
Armed with Petes new 'Garmin Foretex 101 GPS' strapped to my wrist, I headed off on my 5km run circuit. I felt tired from the start, but pushed through it. At the first 'way point', (just under half way) I was 20 seconds infront of my previous best so decided to give the second half my best shot.
Although I didn't at anytime feel comfortable on the run, and I didn't feel like I was running fast, I did cross the finish line 55 seconds better than my previous best. I'm now sitting at 21min 35sec for 5km's. An average of 4min 19sec/ Km.
I've pulled up a bit sore below my left calf, but you get that.
Can't wait till next time!

UNDER PRESSURE

Boy! Talk about putting the pressure on!
OK, after that last "Quote" which does sound like something I might say (in jest of course Damon), but was added to this site by my good mate Pete, I feel that I must now start a blog of my own, and tell it like it really is. So here I go..................
I went out and did a 5km run with Damo this evening.... He ran reasonably well but I managed to pull away eventually. It's good to have mates to run with. It inspires me to try harder. 22min 30sec over 5 k's for me.

So hows that?

Thanks

Got our own Pollett Family website. WOW! Who would've thunk?
Thanks Pete for all your hard work and your amazing talent. (don't for a moment think that I'm gonna cut you any slack out on the bike though). HA!
