After many years of gathering dust and suffering neglect, Graeme has (finally) managed to breath 'new' life into his old faithful Hillman Racing Bike: It was completely dismantled, cleaned up and given a fresh coat of paint, before being lovingly re-assembled to (almost) match it's former glory. Three recent photos attached.
PS. This info was posted by a 'concerned friend' because Mr Pollett is too busy training to become some kind of 'super athlete'... and has no time for silly things like posting photos of his pride-and-joy on the internet... so the rest of us can enjoy them too (let alone visiting said 'friend' to show him the bike in person).

Great looking bike. Loving
Great looking bike. Loving the look.
I just purchased a Reynolds 708 Hillman frame and are looking at restoring.
Hope ur still enjoying the Hillman.
the Hillman
G'day. Sorry it has taken me 4 months to reply. Yes I'm lovin the Hillman. I first got it as part of a sponsorship agreement with Hillman Profesional Cycling Team in 1986. Ive done 50,000kms or more on it at a guess. Actually, it's probably a whole lot more than that. Maybe 80,000 or more?
I would love to see some before and after photos of the bike restoration.
I recently gave in to the temptation to buy a new bike. My new ride is a Ridley Helium kitted out with Sram Red and Mavic Kysirium wheels. Its so light and fast. There are still things I like better about my 23 year old Hillman though. Like riding in a cross wind. Those skinny steel tubes are so much more aero than those huge carbon tubes.
I'd like to keep in contact, so if your interested, my email address is pollett@katanning.com
Cheers
Graeme
